Alex James Searls, 17, of Zanesville, died Friday, November 2, 2007 as a result of an ATV accident at OSU Hospital in Columbus. He gave the gift of life as a Organ Donor. He was born October 20, 1990 in Zanesville a son of Jamie Searls and the late Kenneth Taylor. Alex was a Junior in the Auto Collision Program at Mid-East Career and Technology Center He liked to fish and enjoyed riding his ATV. Surviving are his mother, Jamie Searls of the home; a brother, Corey Taylor of the home; maternal grandmother, Graci Searls of Zanesville; maternal grandfather, Jim Searls of Philo; two uncles, Jordan Searls of McConnelsville and Brody Searls of Duncan Falls; maternal great grandmother, Rosemarie Varian of Cambridge; maternal great grandmother, Kate Searls of Zanesville; great aunt, Ruth Varian of Grove City; best friend, Kevin McDonald of Zanesville and a host of family and friends. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two great grandfathers, Sidney Varian and Jack Searls. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. A celebration of Alex's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2007 at the funeral home with Rev. Dean Cole officiating. Memorial contributions in Alex's name may be made to any Huntington National Bank in Zanesville.
