Alfred G. Stires

Alfred G. Stires, 75 of Zanesville, died at 12:54 P.M. on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. He was born August 28, 1941 in Glouster, Ohio, a son of the late Alfred E. and Luella Nickelson Stires. Alfred was a retired employee of the City of Zanesville and a Veteran of The United States Army. He is survived by his loving companion Cheri Hanks of Zanesville; three sons, Alfred G. (Sarah) Stires, Joseph (Tanya) Stires, Jerry (Kelly) Stires; two daughters, Elizabeth Bailes, Sally (Allen) Gill; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister Sue (Johnny) Ghoning. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Stires; a son Ricky Stires; four sisters, Katie, Phyllis, Babe, and Barb. Friends and family may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Terry Newman officiating.
