Alice L. Saunders

Alice Lucille Saunders, 81, of Zanesville, died at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born July 10, 1926, in New Concord, the daughter of the late Carl Elliott and Cora Morrow Elliott McLean. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Rosary Alter Society, Jackson Rehobeth Grange in Junction City, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #2070 in New Lexington and the New Concord High School Alumni Association. She was also a past 4H advisor. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Saunders of the home and two daughters, Grayce (Ron) Welsh of Adamsville and Roberta (Bobbie) Saunders of the home. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Welsh and her step-father, Alexander McLean Sr. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville where a vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m and the Eagles will hold services at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 144 N 5th St., Zanesville with Father Emmanuel Bertrand as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St Thomas Catholic Church, 144 N 5th St., Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.
