Allen Arthur Abele

Allen Arthur "Buddy" Abele , 77, of Okeechobee, Florida, passed away peacefully from cancer on December 28, 2014 at the Hamrick Hospice House, Okeechobee, Florida. Allen was born November 25, 1937 in Zanesville, a son of the late Arthur A. and Elizabeth Walters Abele. He graduated from Zanesville high school, class of 1955. He moved to Sonora and took pride in a small farm he had until moving to Florida. He worked for his father "Abele Construction" out of high school and then worked for "Coshocton Construction" until moving to Florida. Allen started "R&A Cabinetry" in Naples until he retired and moved to Okeechobee. Allen had a passion for fishing and loved living on the lake. He was a member of Oak View Baptist in Okeechobee and attended it regularly with his wife. Surviving is his wife Patricia Nelson Abele, who he married June 18, 2005, a son Jeff (Nedra) Abele of New Concord; daughter Jan (Jeff) Hawthorn of Thornville; also, four step daughters, Robin Robinson of Perry, Florida, Cheryl (George) Ury of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Donna (Takio) Espada of Okeechobee, Florida, and Debbie (Scott) Rucks of Tyty, Georgia. He also had fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; and a sister Phyllis (Harry) Dingey of Bonita Springs, Florida. He also had a special pet companion, Peaches. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Linda L. Fountain Abele, who passed in October 26,1998 of A.L.S. Friends and family may call from 10 A.M.-12 P.M.on Saturday, January 3rd 2015 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where funeral services will be held at Noon with Mr. Jason Cole from East 40 Church of Christ officiating. Allen will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery in Sonora.
