Alston G. Newman

Alston "Al" G. Newman Jr, 78, of Zanesville, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at his home. He was born April 22, 1934, in Philippi, WV, a son of the late Alston G. Sr. and Alberta Kennedy Newman. He worked for Burnham Boiler for 29 and a half years before he retired in 1996. He is survived by four daughters, Karen (James) Pyatt of Zanesville, Carla (Roger) Samson of Zanesville, Patricia (Daniel) Kincheloe of Nashport, and Marsha (Terry) Richards of Nashport; one special grand "son", Jeff, who lived with Mr. Newman; five sisters; five brothers; ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Darrin, Joe, Jason, Jackie, Heather, Kelly, Chad, and Curtis; 16 great grandchildren with one more great grandchild on the way; and three great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Madeline Newman, who passed away April 2, 1996; one sister; and five brothers. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Union Tabernacle Church, 2425 Hartford Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 20, 2012, with Rev. Terry D. Newman officiating. Al will be laid to rest at the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
