Arietta Steed

Arietta Steed, 86, of Zanesville died at 1:54 p.m. Sunday, December 24, 2006 at Adams Lane Care Center. She was born April 22, 1920 in Logan, WV., a daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Garner Day. Arietta was the Co-Owner of Steed Music Centre and after its closing she worked for Good Samaritan Hospital for 10 years. She was a member of First Christian Church, member of Amrou Caldron. Arietta helped publish the American Guild of Music which was a monthly publication and travel extensively with the American Guild. Surviving are a daughter; Wilma (Henry) Batstra of Nashport, a son; William "Bill" ( Paulette ) Steed of Zanesville, eight grandchildren: Richard "Todd" (Joan) Batstra, Wendy ( Mark) Roberts, Melinda Wagner, Michelle Wagner, William Brian (Melanie) Steed, Richard Chad (Julie) Wagner, Cynthia Batstra and Dustin Steed, ten great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. "Billy" Steed, who died July 28, 1969, a daughter; Wanda Lee Grandstaff, who died March 8, 1989, a sister; Ina Wilson and three brothers; Otto, Robert and John Day. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where funeral services wil be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2006 with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
