Arlene M. Burkhart (Mealey) Hickman

Arlene M. Burkhart Hickman, 82, of Zanesville, died at 1:50 A.M. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville. She was born July 5, 1935, in Ireland, WV, a daughter of the late Fred Morgan and Mabel Lowther Mealey. After graduating from high school, she worked for the FBI, Custom Coil, and Akro Corporation, and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society. Surviving are two children, Robert Michael (Pam) Burkhart and V. Marea (Dean) Griffith; three step-children, Billy Hickman, Neal (Ellen) Hickman, and Bonita (George) Barth; four grandchildren, Doug (Abby) Burkhart, Amanda (Jake) Richards, Adam (Liz) Siddle and Dorothy (David) Dice; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Ramsey; a sister-in-law, Pat (Dan) Maxwell; a special sister-in-law, Lynette Mealey; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Burkhart, second husband, Kenneth Hickman; a brother, Robert Mealey; and a loving brother-in-law, Rev. Lonnie Ramsey. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUENRAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 30, 2018 with Pastor Andrew Wilson officiating. A Cremation-With Care will take place following the service. Inurnment will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville at a later date.
