Banks Knudsen Brown

Banks Knudsen Brown, 71, of Zanesville, died at 2:34 P.M. on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Genesis Good Samaritan Emergency Room. He was born July 3, 1941, in Montgomery, West Virginia, a son of the late Horace and Mildrid Fadum Brown. He graduated from Ashtabula High School in Ashtabula, Ohio, received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia, and attended one year of law school at Case Western Reserve. Banks had worked for Essex Wire, and was a thirty year member of Coburn United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Suzanne (Donald) Brauning of Nashport, and Eleanor "Pidge" Rush of Mentor; nieces and nephews, Melanie (Dr. Ronald) Stas of PA, Dr. Chris (Sarah) Brauning of Zanesville, Marcye (Tim) VanDyke of MI, Donald R. (Shannon) Brauning II of MI, Timothy B. (Amy) Rush of S.C., and Stacey (James) Mollison of N.C.; Uncle Torgier B. Fadum of CA; sixteen great nieces and great nephews; many cousins; best friends Terry Shaw, Rafie Fredericks, Robert Lyons and Jerry Combs; and his buddy, "Joey". A dignified cremation has taken place. A celebration of Banks' life will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 14, 2013, at Coburn United Methodist Church, 3618 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, with Pastor Webster Cox officiating. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coburn United Methodist Church: 3618 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
