Barbara D. (Dickerson) Lafrance

Barbara D. La France, 79, of Zanesville, passed away at 10:55 P.M. on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at the Willow Haven Care Center. She was born June 20, 1936, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Robert and Fern Neal Dickerson. She graduated from Lash High School in 1954. During her lifetime, she was employed by jobs ranging from medical to retail. She was a member of the White Cottage Extension Club for many years and also on the Executive Committee of the Zanesville Christian Women's Club. She was also a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed having lunches and playing cards with her friends. During her marriage, she enjoyed going on many trips with her husband Leo and they enjoyed many auto races together. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Maybelle Dickerson; and by many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Leo R. La France; and her sister Vesta Hawxhurst. Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. on Friday January 8, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Dr. L Steven Fewell and Rev. Tom England officiating. She will be entombed next to her beloved husband Leo at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
