Barbara Lane Painter

Barbara Painter, 84, of Lewis Center, Ohio, passed away peacefully at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Highbanks Care Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born Barbara Arlene Lane, January 24, 1923, in Nashport, Ohio. She graduated from Lash High School in 1941 and worked for Kresge's Five and Dime in Zanesville. She married William "Bill" Painter in 1942. She raised three children and worked beside Bill to build a successful men's clothing store, Talley and Zulandt, Inc. She was a member of Euclid Methodist Church, PTA and various sports boosters clubs. She enjoyed her family, helping others, playing bridge, reading and music. She was the biggest fan of her sons' sporting events. She was a caring, supportive mother, involved community member, a thoughtful friend and a devoted helpmate to her husband. She is survived by her husband, Bill Painter of the home; her children, Mollie (David) Harrigan of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, Michael Painter of Powell, Ohio and Matthew Painter of Lewis Center, Ohio; grandchildren, Alexa Painter (Mike) Jackson, Matthew (Brandi) Painter, Kathryn Harrigan (Brandon) Christian, Jennifer Harrigan (Nathan) Lee and Michael Harrigan and her great grandchildren, Jackson Painter, Griffin Painter and Lucas Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph E. and Leah Conn Lane; her sister and best friend, Eleanor Tunis and her brother, Paul Lane. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Columbus Office, 471 East Broad Street, Suite #1630, Columbus, Ohio, 43215
