Barbara Ellen Best Syphers, 70, of Zanesville, died at 12:10 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House after a two year illness with Breast Cancer. She was born May 31, 1937 in Pennsville, a daughter of the late Russell and Mabel Hooper Best of Canton. Barbara graduated from Canton High School in 1954. She and Ronald Syphers where married on July 2, 1955 and they owned and operated a large dairy farm in Stockport. They were blessed with three children, Dale James, Dana Lee and June Ellen. After her husbands twenty year career in the U.S. Navy Barbara retired from Atlanta Bank after a twenty year career as a customer service supervisor. Barbara was a talented seamstress and a devoted member of the Moose Lodge #867. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Syphers, her son, Dale James Syphers and two sisters. Surviving are her son, Dana (Janet) Syphers and children, Kenneth Paul, Jason Dana and Jessica Dale Syphers and two great grandchildren, Gavin and Austin Syphers; a daughter, June ( Mark) George and children, William F. Conroy IV of the U.S National Guard and Amy (Harvey) Richardson and a great grandson, Timothy Richardson. Friends may call from 2:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Women of the Moose Lodge # 867 will hold services at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m.Tueday at Zanesville Memorial Park with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Ronald. Her grandson, William will play Amazing Grace on his bagpipes. Barbara is truly one of God's Angels.
