Beatrice (Bea) Elaine McNeish, age 86, of Zanesville went to be with her lord and savior on Friday, February 8th, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was a resident at Forest View Health Campus for the past couple years. Bea was born on February 13, 1926 in Zanesville, a daughter to the late Bertha L. Hutchinson and Edward Waters of Zanesville, Ohio. Bea married the late Donald Robert McNeish on the 10th of September, 1942, by the late Rev. John Kinney at the Grace M. E. Parsonage. Bea like most women of the time was required to stay at home and support her son (Bobby) while her husband was off fighting for the country during World War II. Bea always talked about the support she received from the late William and Marguerite McNeish, while Bob was off serving in WWII. Because she married so young she did not have the opportunity to finish her high school education, but the ones of us that knew Bea realized she missed nothing by not completing high school. Bea always looked forward to spring and summer her favorite time of the year. Bea enjoyed working in the garden each and every year and her very most favorite thing was making end of the garden relish. She also enjoyed canning everything out of the garden and nothing was wasted. Bea was an avid reader and enjoyed working cross word puzzles. Bea was a very accomplished cook and enjoyed keeping her home in an orderly manner. Bea loved singing and always participated in the church services held for the inmates at the prison farm. Her favorite songs were "When the Roll is Called up Yonder", "Power in the Blood", "Love Lifted Me" and "Amazing Grace", the Lord now has a great addition to his choir. Bea also loved her grand, great grand, and great- great grand children, keeping pictures of each one. Bea's hobby was going to flea markets and picking and then selling her finds for a profit. Bea lead a long and rewarding life, accomplishing her life goals. She will be sorely missed. Surviving are her three sons, Donald Robert McNeish Jr. and wife Carol of Coraopolis, PA, Gary Lee McNeish and wife Cindy of Hampton, VA and Patrick William McNeish and wife Jean Ann of Zanesville, OH; eight grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Donald Robert McNeish, and half brother William Hutchinson. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 11, 2013, at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio where funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M.
