Bernard D. Camp, 79, of Zanesville, died at 9:54 A.M. on Monday, January 26, 2015, at his home. He was born August 27, 1935, in Muskingum County, a son of the late George Russell and Bessie Bell Camp. He was a United States Army Veteran, worked for Burnham for 13 years, and later worked for Essex Wire. He was a member of Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #302 and Moose Lodge #867. Bernard enjoyed nature and he loved to travel in his R.V. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Judith A. Sarchet Camp, whom he married August 27, 1955; a son Bernard Lee (Judy) Camp of Hopewell; two daughters, Melody Bird of Nashport and Denise (Joe) Wolf of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Charles, and George Camp Jr.; and a sister Emily Lee. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 30, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Rev. Charles Norris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio: 229 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, Ohio 43055.
