Bernard Kreager

October 29, 1924 — February 11, 2013

Bernard Kreager,88, left us on February 11th to reunite with his wife Frances, mother and father Edith and Clarence, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many good friends preceded. He will always be a part of our lives: son Garth, man's best friend Rock, beloved sisters Rosemary and Patty, sister-in-law Orvilla, several nieces, nephews and more and certainly, many great friends including Kelso and Tim. He made friends through schools Buck's County, Meadow Farm, Bell, Grover Cleveland and Lash High; through the Second World War with the B-17G heavy bombers of the 731st bomb Squadron, 452 Bomb Group, and the USS Manhattan; Armco Steel and Armco Park; Campers Club; Western Dance Club; Willow Lakes, Amrou Grotto; Zavi Shrine; Amity Lodge; and churches Meadow Farm, Euclid Avenue and Central Trinity. We thank each and every one of you for your patience and understanding during his bout with forgetfulness. He loved to golf with friends but just could not always remember how many strokes it took to get to the green. He could remember your face but not always your name. He was a creative inventor early on but eventually forgot the precious little things in life that most of us take for granted every day. Life gives you all these wonderful things and then you reach an age where life start's to take those wonderful things away from you. Bernie would ask that you take time each day to enjoy the things you've been given. We give thanks for each of you that have touched our lives over the years. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where Amity Lodge #5 F&AM will hold Masonic Services at 5:45 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 15, 2013, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville, beside his beloved wife Frances, with full military honors being presented by the United States Air Force in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058.
