Bernard J. Maxwell, 71, of Zanesville died at 9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born January 18, 1933 in Zanesville, a son of the late Daniel and Tina Howell Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell retired from Burnham Boiler as a supervisor after 28 years of service. He was Baptist by faith, loved fishing, hunting and baseball. Surviving are his wife Charlene J. Collins Maxwell, whom he married August 15, 1953 of the home, three sons, COL. Jody (Trina) Maxwell of Huntsville, AL., Bernard (Lynn) Maxwell of Rhome, TX and Brent (Melissa) Maxwell of Pataskala, ten grandchildren, Sarah Maxwell, Daniel Maxwell, Colin Maxwell, Joseph Maxwell, Cynthia Maxwell, Bryant Maxwell, Alyssa Maxwell, Larrin Maxwell, Ellexxah Maxwell, and Stephanie Tompkins, two brothers, Roland (Patsy) Maxwell and James (Elouise) Maxwell both of Zanesville, two sisters, Marilyn (Orville) Humphrey and Evelyn Leach both of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Maxwell, three sisters, Ruth Shultz, Mildred Schwartzmiller & Lois Makin, four brothers, William, Russell, Donald and Wilber Maxwell. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at The Bolin Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald J. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
