Betty Mae Torrence Childers, 90, of Nashport, passed this life on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at her home. She was born June 17, 1922 in Long Bottom, OH, a daughter of the late Nelson and Nora Orr Torrence. Betty retired as a clerk from Harts, and was a member of the Meadowview Church of Christ, Frazeysburg, OH. She volunteered many years at Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville and enjoyed spending time with her close family and friends. She is survived by her loving children, Billie(Larry) Tinkham of Westerville, Mike (Patricia) Childers of Zanesville, Roger (Dee) Childers of Flectcher , NC, Steve (Lynne) Childers of Powell and Kelly (Jerry) Boyer of Las Vegas, NV; eight grand children; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Paul Rector of Nashport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Millard Wayne Prince who lost his life in World War II, and also her second husband, of fifty-one and a half years, Paul Childers, who passed away June 13, 1997; a grandson, Adam Thomas, who passed away after an automobile accident in Las Vegas, Nevada. Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. till the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 3, 2012 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Mr. Sam Dunn officiating. Betty will be laid to rest at Irville Cemetery, Nashport.
