Betty J. (Holdcroft) Harmer

Betty J. Harmer, 85, of Zanesville, died at 8:30 A.M. Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Willow Haven Care Center. She was born June 29, 1928, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Ray and Dorothy Moorehead Holdcroft. She was a member of Market Street Baptist Church and retired from Stanley Home Products. Surviving are two sons, Richard (Jill) Harmer of Baltimore, MD, and Timothy Harmer of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Doug Harmer, Kelly (Alan) Denham and Scott Harmer; five great grandchildren; and two nieces, Ann Holdcroft and Cathy Smith, both of Zanesville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Richard A. Harmer, whom she married February 13, 1947, and who died March 27, 2011; a grandson Troy Harmer; and a brother Robert Holdcroft. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Howard Thompson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot.
