Betty L. (Baker) Heskett

Betty L. Heskett, 91, of Zanesville, died at 2:55 A.M. on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at the Willow Haven Care Center. She was born January 3, 1924, in Lorain, OH, a daughter of the late Daniel and Lucy Spragg Baker. She spent most of her life in Zanesville, Ohio, attending Lash High School, and receiving her G.E.D. in 1970. She was married January 4, 1942, to Robert Heskett, for 44 years until his death in 1986. The most important thing in life was her family. She was an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress. Betty retired from the old Rink's Department Store in South Zanesville. She loved to travel and enjoyed many fun lunches at the Sunrise Senior Center with her friends Ethel Scoles, Mary Highman, and Mary McGonagle. Surviving are two sons, Albert and Everett (Betty) Heskett; two daughters, Bonnie Perschonok and Connie (Michael) Colburn; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Heskett; a daughter Julie; a grandson Mark Snider; two sisters, Helen Samson and infant Ruth Ann Baker; daughter-in-law Karen Heskett; and son-in-law Tedd Perschonok. Friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, February 2, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, with Rev. Herb Perry officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the entire staff at Willow Haven Care Center and Hospice of Central Ohio.
