Betty J. Kent, 86, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, formerly of Zanesville, died May 9, 2007 at Regency Hospital in Hattiesburg. She was born November 6, 1920, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Harry A. and Edith Baker Lemert. She was a World War II Navy Veteran, worked for the FBI in Washington, D.C. and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 56 years. Surviving are a son, Lemert ( Rene') Kent of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; a sister, Mary ( Robert) Powell of Vail, Arizona; five grandchildren, Kelli Kent of Concord, NC, Delaney Kent of Hattiesburg, MS, Olivia Kent of Hattiesburg, MS, Trent Wright of Starkville, MS and Timothy Snow of Starkville, MS. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kay Virgil Kent; two brothers, Forrest and Ernest Lemert and a sister, Doris Ressler. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dean Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
