Betty M. Lyons, 101, of Norwich, died at 6:55 P.M. Friday, January 28, 2022 at her home. She was born January 1, 1921, in Pleasant City, a daughter of the late Arthur and Bessie Britton Secrest. She attended the Washington Twp. Baptist Church and retired from Custom Coil. She was the owner of Busy Bee’s Ceramic Shop. Betty loved to travel was an avid quilter. In her younger years she made butter and sold it.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Prouty and Nancy Kearns; a son, Stanley (Bernie) Lyons; daughter-in-law, Debbie Lyons; fourteen grandchildren, Susan Irwin, Joyce (Bobby) Schneider, Greg (Paula) Prouty, Jane (Joey) Prouty-Zuccolillo, Laurie (Jeff) Wisnefski, Tim (Melody) Prouty, Alan (Julie) Prouty, Lynn (Shelli) Kearns, Jenny Prouty Emler, Steve Lyons, Michelle (Kevin) Curry, Lisa (Rick) Sharrer, David (Pam) Lyons, Vikki (Scott) Smith and Matt Lyons; many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Gilbert “Bill” Lyons, who died November 5, 2003; two sons, Richard Bruce Lyons and, Gilbert Dale Lyons; a grandson, Lester Prouty II; two sons-in-law, Gerald Prouty and Gary Kearns; four sisters, Vadah Adkins, Hope Larson Ava Girton and Dorothy Touvell and four brothers, Arthur Secrest Jr., James Secrest , Wayne Secrest and William Secrest.

Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Pastor Chris Riggs officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Bill at Washington Twp. Baptist Cemetery, Zanesville.
