Betty M. (Yarger) Sands

Betty M. Sands, 86, of Zanesville, died at 8:10 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Muskingum County Home. Betty was born December 17, 1924 in Perry County, to the late Forest and Camilla Hynus Yarger. She was employed at Ohio Bell for five years and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Betty was an avid collector and enjoyed working in her yard, gardening flowers, volunteering and participating at the Election's. Surviving are her husband, Ray J. Sands, whom she married on July 12, 1947; a daughter, Narda (Larry ) Sowards of Zanesville, two grandchildren, Shannon Curry of Zanesville and Brady ( Kendra) Sowards of Columbus; a special great granddaughter, Kylie Curry of Zanesville; a brother-in-law, Roy(Helen) Sands of South Zanesville; two sisters-in-law, Anetta Zinn of Crooksville, and Wilda Yarger of Fultonham; two special friends, Evelyn Willison of Circleville and Betty Garrett of Cincinnati; a special nephew, Ron (Jackie) Mills of Duncan Falls and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, a sister, Kay Mills; and three brothers, Paul, Don, and Forest Jr. Yarger. Friends may call from 6- 8p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2011 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with A Dominican Father officiating.
