Betty M. (Swope) Tilton

Betty M. Tilton, 91, of Zanesville, went to be with her blessed Savior on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at her home. She was born April 3, 1926, in Columbus, a daughter of the late Earl A. and Icie Dell Border Swope. She worked at Essex Wire, Bloomers Candy, Buckeye Mart, and was a food demonstrator at Kroger. Betty was a member of South Zanesville United Methodist church for over fifty years and loved her house, dog and cat. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (James) LaGrange, of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Stacy (Robert) Tompkins of Zanesville, Will Tupuola of Zanesville, and Garfield (Kara) Tupuola of Chillicothe; eight great-grandchildren, Cam (Lexi) Colen, Christopher Colen, Robert Tompkins, Jr., Faith (Dustin) Caplinger, Cassandra Tupuola, Levi Tupuola Darian Tupuola, and Zack Tupuola; two great-grandchildren, Kanaan and Kalia Price; and her special friend of eighty years, Ruth Macoy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Tilton; a brother, Carlos; a sister, Olive Mae; and very dear friends, Katherine Scott and Hulda Rupe.
