Beverly Ruth (Brubaker) Benson

July 15, 1927 — March 1, 2021

Zanesville

Beverly Ruth Benson went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday night the 1st of March, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband William J. “Buzz” Benson. Beverly was anxious to see him again. Bev was born July 15, 1927 in Curwensville Pennsylvania. She married Buzz in 1948, after he served in the Navy during World War II, and while he was a student at Penn State. They eloped! She was an incredible wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, grandma, and great-grandma. She relished each of those roles. An incredible cook and hostess, Beverly opened her house to many, hosting parties of up to 60 people at a time. When Buzz was transferred to Zanesville by Brockway Glass, Beverly enjoyed getting involved with the Zanesville community. She volunteered for Bethesda junior league, and was quite active in her church and Christian Women’s Club of Zanesville, and was its president for two years. She loved her farm on Bellview Drive and learned to love the animals her sons brought home to it, most domestic, some not!

Beverly is survived by her daughter Christine (John) Tice of Melbourne Florida; sons Jeff (Debbie) Benson of Blythewood South Carolina, John (Carma) Benson of Zanesville, and Jay (Shellie) Benson of Dresden. Beverly was blessed with 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, and one due any minute! Her youngest great-granddaughter; Blakely Belle Benson of Richmond Virginia was born just hours before Beverly‘s departure to heaven, Jesus, and Buzz.

An incredibly humble, gracious, and classy woman; Beverly Ruth Benson left us for now. She epitomized Proverbs Chapter 31… verses 10, and verses 26 through 29 in particular…

10. Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above Rubies.

26. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27.  She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28. Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

A private memorial service is being planned by Beverly’s family later on this summer.
