Bonnie J Van (Mercer) Allen

Bonnie J. Van Allen, 83, of Zanesville, died at 3:43 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Willow Haven Care Center. She was born February 10, 1928, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Harold W. and Mary Fisher Mercer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Rodney E. (Melissa) Van Allen of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Aric Van Allen, Robert "Robbie" Van Allen, Joshua "Josh" Van Allen and Jacob "Jake" Van Allen; one great grandson, Wesley "Wes" Van Allen; a sister, Betsy Russi of Zanesville; and two brothers, Raymond E. (Joyce) Mercer of Gaysport and Ronald R. (Donna) Mercer of Frazeysburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William O. (Tootie) Van Allen, who died January 22, 1990; a son, Randall "Randy" Van Allen, who died September 6, 1983; a grandson, Jordan Van Allen, who died May 18, 2004; and five brothers, Marion, Donald, Harold Jr., James and William Mercer. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville and one hour prior to services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Seese officiating.
