Bonnie (Bonifield) Banfield

Bonnie J. Bonifield Banfield, 77, of Westerville, formerly of Zanesville, died at 3:43 a.m. on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville. She was born on January 3, 1935, in Zanesville, to the late Edwin and Katherine McGrath Bonifield. She was a member of the Coburn United Methodist Church, and was an active member of the Lions Club International, where she served in many capacities such as the State and District Chairman of the Lions Eye Bank. One of her proudest accomplishments was being the Melvin Jones recipient of the Lions Club. Bonnie had worked for Aide Financial, Robert Halls Clothing Store, Elder-Beerman, and in the deli at Ross IGA. Surviving are two sons, Mark Allen Banfield of Cincinnati and Kevin Lee (Jeanie) Banfield of Westerville; two daughters, Cathy Jo Banfield and Lori Ann Banfield, both of Westerville; seven grandchildren, Sabrina (Thomas) Kirchenberg, John (Amber) Hill, April, Lauren, Andrew, Megan and Keely; six great grandchildren, John Jr, Sara, Edon, Kasey, Chloe, and Joseph; a brother, Daniel (Rita) Bonifield of Zanesville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Banfield; and two grandchildren, Luke Willey and Kevin Banfield Jr. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Coburn United Methodist Church, 3618 Maple Ave., Zanesville with Dr. Dennis Baker officiating. Bonnie will be laid to rest next to her husband, Lawrence at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
