Bonnie Jean Durst

Bonnie Jean Durst, 94, of Zanesville, died at 5:18 P.M. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Primrose Retirement Community of Zanesville. She was born on July 31, 1924 in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Ralph and Leona Hoosan Mattingly. Bonnie was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the Zanesville Women's Association and was involved in many civic organizations around town. Her passions included dancing, exercising at the Senior Center, traveling with her husband to Naples, Florida in the winter, playing Bridge and other card games with her card club. Bonnie also participated in the Cancer Golf Outing at the Country Club for many years. Surviving are her son, Karl (Barbara) Durst of Grove City; granddaughter, Sarah (Jeff) Hicks of Grove City; two great grandsons, Colton and Houston Hicks; a sister, Peggy (Frank) Watkins of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Casey" Durst who died in 2009; a brother, Robert Mattingly; a sister, Patty Baker and a sister-in-law, Juanita Mattingly. Friends and family may call from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where the funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 4, 2018 with Rev. John Keating officiating. Bonnie will be laid to rest by her husband at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Central Ohio Hospice, 2269 Cherry Valley Road SE, Newark, Ohio 43055 or Primrose Retirement Community of Zanesville, 4212 Northpointe Drive, Zanesville, OH 43701.
