Carl E. Brown, 87, of Zanesville, died at 7:40 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born April 14, 1920, in Malta, Ohio, a son of the late Albert and Nellie Benjamin Brown. He retired as a lathe operator for Kaiser Aluminum. He was a WWII US Army Veteran and an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are two sons, James (Violet) Brown and Lester (Vivian) Dailey, both of Zanesville; a sister, Bonnie Baker; twin brother, Clyde (Pearl) Brown of Guysville, Ohio; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Brown, who died May 18, 1998; three sisters and two brothers. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. till service time at noon Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Pastor Charles Norris officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military services at the gravesite.
