Carl R. Fleming

Carl R. Fleming, 87, of Zanesville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at his home, after a long illness. He was born on April 17, 1922 in Frazeyburg, a son of the late Thomas C. Sr. and Rhoda Lecky Fleming. Carl served in the United States Air Corp in World War II and he retired from Brockway Glass after 23 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Brothers Fleming of 38 years, who he married on September 21, 1970; three daughters, Roberta (Fred) Barnes, Elenor McGee, and Arlene (Doug) Hines; four step-children, Linda Shonborn, John Kemp, Mary (John) Marlowe, and Tasha (Bryan) Lucas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dwight (Betty) Fleming, Don (Pat) Fleming, and James (Beverly) Fleming; and two sisters, Norma Fleming and Clara Morin. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Wayne; five brothers, Charles, William, Asa, Walter and Thomas Jr. Fleming; and one sister, Rhoda Fleming Reed. Carl was very much loved and admired and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. No calling hours will be observed, a caring cremation has taken place.
