Carl Edward Jasper, 83, of Zanesville, died at 11:43 A.M. on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born May 6, 1930, in Zanesville, a son of the late John and Dorothy Keiffer Jasper. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and retired from the Maintenance Department for Kaiser. Surviving are two daughters, Deborah (Ron Mercer) Baker, and Marcina (Steve) Silver; five grandchildren, Brad (Hope) Silver, Jeremie (Nicki) Silver, Allison (Randy) McMillen, Jennifer (Greg) Warrner, and Joshua Baker; eight great granddaughters; two great grandsons; a brother James Jasper; and a sister Janette Jasper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joan E. Trout Jasper, who died September 12, 2005. No calling hours will be observed and a dignified cremation has taken place. The family will hold private graveside services at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 16, 2013, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville, with Chaplain William Harris officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the United States Navy in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058.
