Carl Edgar Shuey

August 19, 1958 — March 20, 2016

Carl Edgar Shuey, formerly of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away March 20, 2016, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus Ohio. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on August 19, 1958, to Edgar and Lula (Russell) Shuey who survive. Carl's joy in life was his wife and family. Laughter thrived in their home. Carl enjoyed golfing and watching Buckeye football and basketball and NASCAR races. He was a mailman for 30 years and loved his mail route in North Zanesville. He also played the trombone and played as an alumnus in the Zanesville High School Band. He was a member of Market Street Baptist church for many years. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, the former Carol Painter of Zanesville, and 4 children, Daniel (Kristin Kenily) of Westerville; Douglas (Sarah Hughes) of Sinking Spring, PA; Sabrina of Atlanta, GA; and Caleb (Jeni Rose Hambrick) of Columbus. His six grandchildren, Noah, Max, Lydia, Liam, James, and Zain Shuey, will miss their Papa. Two sisters remain: Deborah (Greg) Grove of Huntingdon, PA and Anita Thompson of Zanesville. Friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to the funeral which will be held at the church at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Market Street Baptist Church, 140 N 6th Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701, with Pastor Howard Thompson and Pastor D. Scott Johnston officiating.
