Carlos W. Beattey

Carlos W. Beattey, 70, of Zanesville, died at 3:31 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Genesis Good Samaritan emergency room. He was born May 8, 1937, in Zanesville, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Bates Beattey. Carlos was a retired superintendent of Peabody Coal, Sunnyhill Mine in New Lexington, Ohio and was a member of Zanesville Eagles Lodge #302. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Joyce Wilcox Beattey of the home; a daughter, Debbie (Allan) Buzza of Zanesville; a son, David (Jennifer) Beattey of Nashport; two granddaughters, Danette (Marc) Warner of Zanesville and Beth Beattey of Nashport; a grandson, Donald (Stephanie) Clark Jr. of Blacklick, Ohio; a great-grandson, Zachary Clark of Blacklick, Ohio and two sisters, Karine (Bob) Heim of Kentucky and Sara (Mike) Perry of Newark. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carla Ann Beattey. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Mr. William Meaige officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
