Carlos Paul Willis

Carlos "Paul" Willis, 92, of Zanesville died Friday March 1 at his residence. He was born August 9, 1920 in Cambridge, the son the late James M. Willis and Olive B. (Maxwell) Willis. Paul was a WWII veteran. He owned and operated a grocery store in Cambridge prior to working for NCR from which he retired in 1986. He was a member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther L. (Van Horn) Willis in 1976 and his second wife, Mildred I. (Shakley) Willis in 2011. He is survived by three children: sons Paul R. (Susan) and Robert D. (Judy) of Columbus; daughter Jean (Reid) Wurtzbacher of West Virginia; three step-daughters: Marilyn Royer and Karen Hoff of Zanesville and Dona Shakley of Columbus; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 4, 2013, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with Pastor Keith Hornug officiating. Paul will be laid to rest in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
