Carmen V. Haug Smith, 83, of Zanesville died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at her home. She was born February 2, 1922 in Muskingum Co. A daughter of the late Carl F. Haug. She had worked fro 361/2 years at General Electric, was a member of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and loved to travel. Carmen was a people person , who never met a stranger and enjoyed all those that she met. Surviving are her loving husband of 47 years, Harry M, Smith of the home and three sister-in-laws and brothers-in-laws, Elizabeth (Lynn) Dennis, Lala Bryan, and Martha (Bud) Wortman all of Zanesville, a niece, Lori Wortman and two best friends, Sue Burns and Shirley Mann all of Zanesville. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Donald R. Bryan. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2005 at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Zanesville.
