Carole M (Reamer) Hudson

Carole M. Hudson, 84, of Zanesville, by her request, died in the arms of her loving husband, at 9:50 a.m. Monday, August 08, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville following a stroke. She was born April 19, 1927, in Coshocton, a daughter of the late John G. and Emma Powelson Reamer. She graduated from Coshocton High School Class of 1946 and was employed in the office of Shaw Barton Company following her marriage. She and her husband Elden are long time members of Grace United Methodist Church in Zanesville. On August 25 they would have celebrated 65 years of a wonderful marriage. She always stated "her greatest accomplishment was her marriage." She loved her church. They sang together in their church choirs for all 65 years in several communities in Ohio following Elden's moving in managerial positions with the Ohio Power Company. Carole loved music and sending cards to others who suffered through illness, loss of a loved one or just needed to be remembered. Not just for the immediate need but for several years to follow on the anniversary of the loss. She served on the Administrative Board, Worship, Member Care and Friendly Call committees. She was a kind person who didn't like the lime light but volunteered to work behind the scenes. To say it simply, "she cared." Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Elden R. Hudson, of the home; three children, Deborah (Jim) Pritchard of Dresden, Daniel (Michele) Hudson of Athens and Drew (Caroline) Hudson of Columbus; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Morgan of Newcomerstown and Jean Triplitt of Coshocton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John D. Reamer. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church, 516 Shinnick St., Zanesville and one hour prior to services. Funeral services will be held at noon, Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the church with Pastor Steven McGuire officiating. Carole will be laid to rest at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville is entrusted with all arrangements.
