Cecil Thurman Yonley

Cecil Thurman Yonley, 93, went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2023, from natural causes. He was born on June 5, 1930, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late George A. and Lulu C. (Lashley) Yonley. He was self-employed as Cecil Yonley Construction, during his working days he built over 142 homes. He was a past member and inspector on the zoning board for Wayne Township and was an honorary board member for forty years at Trinity Full Gospel Church.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, whom he married March 14, 1980, Patricia Kessler Carpenter Yonley; a son and daughter-in-law and caregivers, Vance and Michelle Carpenter; a sister, Sue (Terry) Donaldson; sister-in-law, Lorie Yonley; granddaughter, Vanessa (Chris) Minner; grandson, Alex (Tori) Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Colton Minner, Aeries Carpenter, Asher Carpenter, Calieb, Zane and Payton Minner; a special friend and coworker: Gary Elson, and many loved nieces and nephews.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Viola Yonley; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Roy Wood; two brothers, Robert Yonley and Frances (Gene) Yonley and niece, Tammy Yonley.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Trinity Full Gospel Church, 535 Munson Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, with Pastor Donny Rowland officiating. Cecil will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
