Charles A. Burchett

Charles A. Burchett, 84, of Zanesville, died at 5:55 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at his home. He was born November 21, 1927 at Zanesville, a son of the late Arthur L. and Margie Lynch Burchett. He had worked for All Temp Heating and Cooling, David Davies for 16 years as a dock worker, Integrity Supply, U-Haul and Economy Linen. Charles was a member of the Eagles Lodge #302, a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 29. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Sterling Burchett, whom he married March 31, 1978, of the home; a daughter, Sharon Pidcock of Zanesville; four sons, Mike (Kathy) Burchett, Jeff Burchett, Larry (Sylvia) Burchett and Daniel Burchett all of Zanesville; four step-sons and one step-daughter, whom he loved as his own, Chuck King of Zanesville , Wayne King of Centerville, VA, Richard (Terri) King of Zanesville, Rob (Melissa) King of Zanesville, and Vicki Waite of Zanesville; seventeen grand children; twenty-five great grandchildren; one brother, Joe (Sue) Burchett of Harrington, DE; two sisters, June (Vince) Lent of PA, and Edna Rose Burchett of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Burchett, who passed away May 17, 1975; four brothers, Nelson, Jim, Leslie, and Ernie Burchett; and three sisters, Mary Sees, Alice Rummer, and Margaret Revennaugh. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 30, 2012 with Mr. William L. Meaige officiating. Charles will be laid to rest at Williams Cemetery in Zanesville with full military honors provided by the United States Navy, in conjunction with George Selsam VFW Post #1058. Eagles Lodge #302 will hold services at 5:45 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH 43701.
