Charles L. Cavinee Sr.

June 15, 1932 — July 23, 2007

Charles L. "Buck" Cavinee Sr., 75, of Brownsville, died unexpectedly Monday, July 23, 2007 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born June 5, 1932, in Columbus, a son of the late L.E. "Jack" Cavinee and Gladys E. Messer Cavinee Coulter. He retired from the Leader EQS as a oil well pumper after 18 years of service. Buck was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and was a Korean Conflict Navy Veteran where he was a plank owner serving on the USS Wren. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 302, American Legion Post 85 of Newark, and the VFW Post 1060 of Heath. Surviving are his wife, Carol L. Noble Cavinee of the home; two daughters, Jeannine Lynn (Robert) Bouterse of Baden, PA. and Kathleen (Kenneth) Westenhouser of Lancaster; four sons, Joseph W. Cavinee of Kissimmee, Florida, Robin W. Cavinee of Newark, Charles L. (Rebecca) Cavinee Jr. of Newark and Phillip R. (Cora) Cavinee of Newark; eleven grandchildren, Heather (David) Bouterse-Conkle, Robert T. Bouterse, Douglas (April) Bouterse, Candyss (Rodney) Bryant, Kenneth Westenhouser III, Carrie Westenhouser, Michael Westenhouser, Jason (Elizabeth Kenney) Cavinee, Nathan Cavinee, Philip Cavinee and Ryan Cavinee; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Coll of Lancaster and a step-brother, Robert Shields of Rockbridge. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by step-father, Joseph Coulter; step-mother, Hazel Cavinee; a son, Michael Cavinee; a grandson, Brian D. Bouterse and a step-brother, Bernard L. Coulter. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at St. James Episcopal Church, 155 North 6th Street, Zanesville with Rev. Kathryn Clausen officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the St. James Episcopal Church Columbarium. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 155 North 6th Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to the Heifer International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202
