Charles W. Colliflower, 83, of Zanesville, died at 4:13 A.M. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Genesis Hospice Morrison-House. He was born June 2, 1941, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Charles S. and Myrtle Marie (Slater) Colliflower. Charles was a graduate of The University of Buffalo at New York State where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education and then his Master’s Degree at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He was an art teacher for many years for Zanesville City Schools and was also a photographer for the Zanesville Times Recorder. Charles loved and collected pottery especially North Carolina Art Pottery.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Mary Jane (Hivnor) Colliflower whom he married July 1, 1989; daughters, Wendy Ann (Chris) Fracker and Lindy Burkley; two step children, Karen (David) Ogilvie and Stephen Pauley; seven grandchildren, Cef (Brittany) Fracker, Ashley Nockengost, Zachary Burkley, Jonathan Pauley, Harrison Pauley and Lulu Pauley, Nicholas Burkley; and three great granddaughters.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Marie (Robert) Martin.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Charles will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
