Charles J. Fink, 82, of Zanesville, died at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born July 29, 1926, in Hebron, Oh., a son of the late Charles Paul & Nellie Prather Fink. He graduated from Lash High School Class of 1944. Charles retired from McGraw/ Cooper Industry after 42 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended Putnam Presbyterian Church. He taught the High School Sunday School Class, was a youth fellowship leader at First United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Couples Class at First United Methodist Church where he was a past president. He was a World War Two Navy Veteran. He was also a member of the Lodge of Amity #5, Muskingum County Association of Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, where he served as past president, Zavi Shrine, where he served as secretary for 17 years and also past president, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Rufus Putnam Chapter Ohio Society Son of The American Revolution, and Muskingum County Genealogy Society. Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Peggy A. Rait Fink, whom he married June 5, 1949; two sons, Douglas Carter (Connie) Fink and Mark Allan Fink both of Zanesville; two grandsons, Ryan (Anna) Fink and Nicholas (Nicole) Fink both of Zanesville; and a great granddaughter, Cora Fink. Friends may call Thursday, June 18, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 and one hour prior to service at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, with Mr. Herb Perry officiating. Burial will follow at the Zanesville Memorial Park with full military honors being conducted by the United States Navy and assisted by the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Lodge of Amity will hold masonic services at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
