Charles M. Headley, 88, of Zanesville, died at 9:20 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born July 12, 1918, in Cannelville, Ohio, a son of the late George and Emma Hogg Headley. He worked on the railroad for 15 years, worked as a forklift operator for Brockway Glass for 20 years and was owner-operator of Sharon Avenue Cafe for 19 years. He was a WWII Army veteran, a member of VFW George Selsam Post #1058 and American Legion Post #29. Surviving are a daughter, Emma Mae Headley of Zanesville; a son, Charles Martin Headley Jr. of California; a step daughter, Kay (Bill) Bowman of Zanesville; a step son, Dale (Leona) Snyder of Carrollton, Ohio. Also surviving are grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn E. Snyder Headley, who died January 27, 2007; a daughter, Diana Brown and seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with the Rev. Larry Kudart officiating. Burial will follow at Duncan Falls Cemetery. VFW George Selsam Post #1058 will hold full military rites at the gravesite. Friends may call two hours prior to services at the funeral home.
