Charles E. Hepler, 80, of Zanesville, died at at 6:47 A.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1932, in Zanesville, a son of the late George Edward and Ruth Norman Hepler. He was a retired pipefitter, and had worked for Pipefitters Local 495 in Cambridge. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of American Legion #29, the Moose Lodge, and Eagles Lodge #302. Surviving to treasure his memory are his wife, Gail A. Abele Hepler, whom he married April 6, 1975; three daughters, Debra (Francis) Miller of Zanesville, Tammy (Steve Orewiler) Anders of Bucyrus, and Lynda (Tim) Dixon of Oceanside, CA; four sons, Richard (Melinda) Hepler of Pearland, TX, Thomas Hepler of Austin, TX, Scott Pedicord of Sacramento, CA, and Eric (Mindy) Pedicord of Mt. Perry; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many close friends, Mark Fell, Ken Snyder, Dave and Linda O'Brian, Russ and Connie Stallings, Bill and Marlene Wagner, and Wendell and Sally Smitely. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Hepler; and a sister, Betty Dixon. A dignified cremation will take place. A private family Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville was entrusted with arrangements.
