Charles E. (Charlie) Miller, 97, of Zanesville, died at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007 at his residence. He was born January 30, 1910, in Dayton, Ohio, a son of the late Edward and Lulu James Miller. He was a retired tool & die maker and farmer, was a Baptist by faith and he was an avid reader and puzzle fan. Surviving are three sons, James (Rita) Miller of Zanesville, Jay (Mary) Miller of Statesboro, Georgia and Joseph Miller of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, Jami Miller, Brett Miller, Jodie (Mark) Miller Englehart, Leah Miller, Reid Miller, Rod Miller, Westley Miller and Austin Miller; five great grandchildren, Jakob Miller, Jocelynn Miller, Jillian Buchanan, Jensen Buchanan and Braden Miller and a special friend and very loyal companion, Rufus. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha B. Hooper Miller, who died September 3, 1992. No calling hours will be observed. Private graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Wesley Union Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Kudart officiating. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville are entrusted with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Pre-School or to the St Jude Childrens Hospital.
