Charles A. Riggle, 81, of Zanesville, went home to be with the Lord at 10:42 P.M. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at the Genesis Hospital. He was born August 19, 1934, in Nashport, a son of the late Ray R. and Vitae Riggle. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a Past Vice President and member of the Zanesville Jaycees and he was Director of the Soap Box Derby in 1965. He received the Nate Milder Founders Award for Outstanding Jaycee in 1966. He retired from the General Electric Company as supervisor of the Export Department after 34 years of service. He was a member of Maranatha Bible Church. When his health was better, he loved to golf, enjoyed deer hunting, especially in West Virginia with family members, and family vacations. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, and his four sons and their families and he especially loved attending his church services during the week and having fellowship with his church family that he loved dearly. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elaine Ellis Riggle; four sons, Nathan (Lisa) Riggle of Pataskala, Adam (Stacie) Riggle of Blacklick, Chad Riggle and Drew (Holly) Riggle both of Zanesville; He is also survived by his two oldest, sweet granddaughters, Hannah and Emily Riggle, and his youngest grandchild, his sweet grandson and namesake, Avan Charles Riggle, also Amyiah Rose Riggle, Miranda Smith, and Ashley Stitt. Charlie also has several great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 21, 2016, with Pastor L. Dale McCallister and Pastor Chris Brown officiating. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville, with full military honors presented by the United States Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058 and American Legion Post #29.
