Charles Lee Snider, 72, of Mount Perry, died at 6:18 P.M. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born July 6, 1942, in Zanesville, a son of Clyde Snider of Gratiot and the late Ruth Foster Snider. He had worked over 30 years in the oil field and also for the Newark Roper Company and the Longaberger Company. He was a Little League Baseball Coach, a past volunteer for the National Trails Fire Department, and a member of the Land of Legend Fishing Club of Newark. He attended New Hope Full Gospel Church and the Gratiot United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his father are his wife of 50 years, Brenda K. Dunn Snider, whom he married July 5, 1964; a son David (Kelly) Snider of Mount Perry; a daughter Theresa Lynn Snider of Zanesville; two granddaughters, Gabrielle Snider and Alisha Snider; two sisters, Susan Short of Hopewell and Geraldine (David) Zylinsky of Zanesville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special niece, Kathy (Dan) Mohler; his special pets Callie, and Lady; and special friends, David and Faye Parsons, Barry and Jane Harkness, and Randy and Rita Gorely. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Roger Short. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 5, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 6, 2014, with Pastor Brian Harkness officiating. He will be laid to rest at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot.
