Charles A. “Chuck” Frick, 70, of Zanesville, departed this earthly adventure at 1:40 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2024, surrounded by loving family and one of his dearest friends. He was born January 26, 1954, in Zanesville, a son of the late Walter William “Bill” and Florence Louise (Pohl) Frick.
Chuck lived for the thrill of the open road. For him, the joy was in the journey itself; feeling the wind in his face on two wheels looking into the horizon. He cherished the magnificence of nature in all seasons, often pausing mid-ride to soak in the beauty around him. As muscular dystrophy slowly wore his body down, Chuck's resilience and ingenuity prevailed, adapting his means of travel but never dampening his passion. His two wheels changed to three, then eventually four, limiting the distance he could travel from home, but barely putting a damper on the miles ventured on a warm sunny day. Over the course of his life, Chuck kept detailed records of miles ridden on his motorcycles. Hitting the one million mile mark long ago, his odometer racing hundreds of thousands of miles beyond. Amidst his incredible journey, Chuck's love for family, friends, and his special furry companions lit up every mile, eager to share each ride's stories over an ice-cold beer upon his return home. Chuck lived life to its fullest and will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his “ger-der-dal-ing dear” of 45 years, Terry Frick; two daughters, Maren S. Frick (William Costello) and Lindsey L. Frick (Robert Hasman); his eldest brother Kenneth Frick (Cindy); sisters-in-law Betsy and Peggy Frick; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Bill Frick.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Noon on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, 1475 Military Road, Zanesville.
