Chris A. Ayres, 46, of Zanesville, died at 2:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House after battling cancer. He was born May 20, 1961, in Zanesville, a son of Doloris Shaw Ayres Mumaw and the late Hershel Ayres. He was employed as a steel cutter for the Best America Demolition Company and was a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls. Surviving are his mother, Doloris Shaw Ayres Mumaw of Zanesville; his wife, Malisa McElfresh of the home; three daughters, Jessica (Lester) Hanna of Dresden, Jamie (Jeff) McDowell and Nichole Ayres, both of Zanesville; a granddaughter, Mikaila Hanna of Dresden; many sisters; a brother and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Tim Ford. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Caton officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
