Christine J. "Chris" Cronin

Christine Joy “Chris” Cronin, 94, of Heath and formerly of Zanesville, died at 5:44 A.M. on Monday, July 29, 2024, at The Inn at Chapel Grove. She was born July 21, 1930, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Beatrice Philip. Chris was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and a teacher for many years, for Roseville and Duncan Falls schools. She loved to read political novels, was a seamstress and enjoyed playing in her Bridge Club of sixty-seven years. She raised Standardbred horses, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Chris is survived by her children, Martha Yeager, Gregg (Penny) Marshall, Carla (Steve) Hammer and Jeffrey (Diann) Marshall; two sisters, Eleanor Fulkerson and Heather Philip; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald S. Cronin who passed away in 2019; a brother, Robert Philip; sister, Susan Philip and a son-in-law, Bill Yeager.

A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.

Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours for Christine on Saturday, August 3rd at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home from 12 Noon to 2PM.  A celebration of life will start at 2PM with Deacon Susan Riss officiating, a private interment will follow thereafter.  

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the exceptional care given to Chris by the staff of The Inn at Chapel Grove.
