Christine L. (Stout) Wolfe

September 9, 1931 — October 23, 2019

San Antonio FL

Christine L (Stout) Wolfe was born September 9, 1931 in Elyria, Ohio.  She was one of 5 children, brothers Bob, Bill and Jack Stout and 1 sister Eleanor Stout Waites.  She graduated from Lash High School in Zanesville in 1950.  Soon after graduation, Christine married Robert Wolfe on August 13, 1950.  They had 3 children, Dean, Connie, and David.

Christine had many hobbies and community involvement.  She, was an aspiring actress, who acted in many community plays at the Liberty Theater in Zanesville but her favorite play was the “Solid Gold Cadillac”.   Christine volunteered at Genesis Hospital serving in the Y-City Women’s Club and Bethesda Guild for many years.  Christine liked to make people laugh, rejoicing in their smiles and a great sense of humor.

Christine worked as the B & B Market, SS Kresge’s and JC Penney’s in Zanesville, and at the Main Grill in Somerset, OH before doing payroll accounting at Maysville Lanes and Linden Sports Center.  Christine is probably best known as a Longaberger Basket Consultant where she won many awards for sales and was one of the nation’s top consultants

Christine had many hobbies.  She loved playing cards with her friends and family.   She joined a euchre club in the 1960’s and played euchre for many years and a card club in Del Ray Beach, and she was good, too.  She loved to cook and entertain for her friends at these club nights.  She also enjoyed playing bingo and could quite often be seen at Lind

Arena and later on West Main Street on bingo nights.  Skating came natural to Christine, both roller skating and ice skating, but liked roller skating the most.  In 1994 at age 63, she and her husband skated at a grandson’s birthday as if they were kids again.

Christine was very talented.  She crocheted many beautiful afghans, scarves and dish cloths so easily.  She also made novelty candles and macramé in her spare time.  Christine loved to entertain, hosting the euchre club and holding many Longaberger basket parties.  She also participated in a bowling league for several years.

She would often say “I just love my family and my kids” as she was decorating and cooking for one of the several family get-togethers she would host each year for those special occasions like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, New Years, Super Bowl and birthdays.  Her peanut butter fudge was famous with the family as well as her pretzel dessert, cheese cake, hanky-panky’s and her baked beans. (Too numerous to list.)

Christine loved to swim, growing flowers and just spending time out doors in the sun.  She also liked her cats.  Chloe’, Callie and Tiger.  She also traveled a lot with Bob her husband of 69 years.  She got to see the sights from around the country and even traveled to Venezuela for an International Baseball game.

Christine was a beautiful person even to those she just met on the street.  She knew no strangers.  She made friends easily in all types of situations every where she went across the country.  In 2016, she and Bob moved their permanent residence to Del Ray Beach, Florida having been snowbirds for many years to that location.  In 2019, they moved again to San Antonio, Florida near Tampa.  We will greatly miss this wonderful person for her friendliness, sense of humor, and her meticulous finger nails and haircut. She was just a beautiful person.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother Jack (Karen) of Dayton, OH, her three children, Dean (Denise) Wolfe of San Antonio, FL, Connie (Greg) Butler of Punta Gorda, FL, and David (Lynn-deceased) Wolfe of Zanesville, OH; 8 grandchildren, Skyler Wolfe, Shantae Bash and Shaelynne Beiser, David Yuraitis, Jason Wright, Lisa Wright, Austin Wolfe and Abby Wolfe; 8 great-grandchildren, Avery Wolfe, Renner, Raxton, and Racilynn Bash, Bentley and Brantley Beisser, Lelilah, and Rowman.

She was very much loved by her family and friends, and will be deeply missed.
