Clara E. Shaffer

Clara E. Shaffer, 75, of Hopewell, died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born July 16, 1930 at Gratiot a daughter of the late Dale and Erma Bucher Winegardner. She was a homemaker and had worked for Sears, Hickory Farms and Essex Wire. Clara enjoyed Flea Markets. Surviving are two daughters, Janice (Steve) Shane of Newark and Judy Shaffer of Cary, NC., two sons, Jerry (Elaine) Shaffer and Jack Shaffer both of Zanesville, six grandchildren, Aaron (Stephanie) Jones, Bill Shaffer, Amy Johnson, David Johnson, Tiffany Shaffer and Derek Shaffer, ten great grandchildren, a sister, Lily Stewart of Fredericktown, two brothers, Charles (Evelyn) Winegardner of Newark and Robert (Esther) Winegardner of Zanesville and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harrold Shaffer, who died October 23, 1980,a granddaughter, Melissa Johnson and a brother, Ralph Winegardner. Memorial services celebrating the life of Clara will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville with Rev. Charles Norris officiating.
