Clarence J. Mansfield, 86, of Zanesville, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Cedar Hill Care Center. He was born November 18, 1920, in Zanesville, a son of the late James E. and Blanche Mattingly Mansfield. He was a retired cabinet maker for Mock Woodworking, was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a life member of the American Legion Post #29 and was a World War II United States Army Veteran. Surviving are three daughters, Deanna (Paul) Smith of Nashport, Barbara (William) Landkrohn of Zanesville and Christine (Mark) Lacroix of Tucson, Arizona; two sons, Richard (Kathleen) Mansfield of Zanesville and Geoffrey (Barbara) Mansfield of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Shaila (Bruce) Worley, Sean Smith, William (Michelle) Landkrohn, Brian (Julia) Landkrohn, Timothy (Julie) Kanavel, David Kanavel and Nathan Kanavel; eight great grandchildren, Robert, Nichole, Heather, Madison, Allyson, Morgan, Peyton and Delaney; six nieces and two nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Murphy Mansfield, who died November 15, 2001; a brother, Hubert Mansfield and a nephew, Timothy Murphy. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Father Leo Connolly as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive cemetery. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the gravesite.
